Director Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir is a member of a female blues performance group that draws inspiration from failures and to which she dedicated her debut film, "Band". Belarusian DJ and art manager Ludmila Pogodina will talk to Álfrún about everything that this film embodies—about music, nature, feminism, and also about failures that make us stronger.

Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir

Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir is an Icelandic theater and film director, writer, and actress. She is a member of The Post Performance Blues Band, a music/art collective that seeks inspiration in failure. Band, Álfrún's debut film as a director, premiered at HotDocs in 2022 and has been nominated as the best documentary at multiple film festivals around the world, including Chicago, Nordisk Panorama, Munich, and Glasgow. She is currently directing a musical at the City Theatre of Iceland and developing a new feature film called Shitballs.

Ludmila Pogodina

Ludmila Pogodina, multidisciplinary artist with a journalist background from Belarus, based in Berlin. Ludmila works as a writer, DJ, art director, photographer. She is a co-founder of #KeepMinskWeird art collective and promo group, co-author and hostess of #KMWoice interview-podcast. Ludmila works in a field of music, intersectional feminism, human rights, social awareness and diversity.
