Welcome to the imaginary hotel of Franky, a girl whose mind shelters five very contrasting personalities. In conversation with Belarusian poetess Hanna Komar, Birgit Möller, director and co-writer of the script, will discuss how the concept for the film came about, how the characters were created, and what a chicken has to do with a movie.

Birgit Möller

Birgit Möller was born on 4 July, 1972, in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany. She is a cinematographer, scriptwriter, and director, known for Franky Five Star (2023), Valerie (2006), and Egglove (2003).

Hanna Komar

Hanna Komar is a Belarusian poet, translator, and writer. Hanna's poetic work lays bare the experience of being a girl, then a young woman, growing up in a strongly patriarchal, authoritarian country. She has published five poetry collections: "Страх вышыні" [Fear of Heights], a collection of docu poetry "Мы вернемся" [We'll Return] and "Вызвалі або бяжы" [Set Me Free or Run] in Belarusian, as well as a bilingual collections "Recycled" and "Ribwort". Hanna has an MA in Creative Writing: Writing the City from the University of Westminster. She is taking PhD at the University of Brighton, exploring how poetry can support Belarusian women to share experiences of domestic abuse and state violence.
