Description

Both speakers work at one of the most progressive production companies in Sweden, Göteborg-based Plattform Production. The company was co-founded by renowned director Ruben Östlund (“Force Majeure,” “The Square”).

Cecilia and Maximilian will discuss the principles of the collective platform company Plattform Production, as well as the philosophy of image perception in the 21st century. They will also share insights into their work on the documentary film *Ten Meter Tower*, which became a viral hit online, and *Incident by a Bank* by Ruben Östlund (2009), a reenactment of a real bank robbery that won the Golden Bear in Berlin in 2010. They will present case studies of these projects and explain how to research and produce impactful and socially relevant documentary films.

Maximilian, who is currently producing a film about the singer Björk, will also talk about a new documentary project called *Broadcast* (which was presented at CPH:FORUM 2019 while in development), a co-production between Sweden and the USA. This project will be made from archival footage from Swedish television and will explore the phenomenon of the impact of camera accessibility on human behavior. After fake news, can we still trust what we see?
