Description

Let's talk about Scandinavian and Norwegian literature, Erlend Loe’s experience in children's literature, naive style of writing in adult literature, work on screenplays. Since Erlend Loe is working as a film critic in the Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen he will shed some light on how he managed not to quarrel with the film directors, who could potentially take up his screenplay.

Erlend Loe is an acclaimed Norwegian author, screenwriter and film critic

 After his first book Tatt av kvinnen (1993), adapted as a film in 2007 as Gone with the
Woman, he has written many novels and several screenplays. The film Detector (2000) became a big success. In recent years he has written the screenplay for feature films like North (2009) and Satisfaction 1720 (2016). Loe is currently working on a screenplay adapting Karin Fossum’s successful novel Calling Out for You, in her series about Inspector Konrad Sejer.

Author and film critic Erlend Loe will lead a professionally strong jury in the evaluation of 33 films for the 2017 Amanda Awards. The Amanda Award is an award given annually at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, Norway, to promote and improve Norwegian film.

Erlend Loe worked at a psychiatric clinic, as a brigade because of his mother working there, and was later a freelance journalist for Norwegian newspaper

After his first book Tatt av kvinnen (1993), adapted as a film in 2007 as Gone with the Adresseavisen. Loe now lives and works in Oslo where in 1998 he co-founded Screenwriters Oslo - an office community for screenwriters. His popular novel Naiv. Super. (Naïve. Super.) has been translated into over 20 languages including English.
