The debut feature film of Raitis, Lauris (directors) and Mārcis Ābele (DOP) is based on the real-life situations of their childhood friend, a musician with bipolar disorder. The main characters are brothers Robert and Martin, modern artists. With the support of an influential gallerist, they're due to have a new exhibition in a month, but the guys don't seem to have a clue what it's going to be about. To get his fill of inspiration, Martin locks himself inside an absolutely empty black cube for ten days. After that, the lives of the brothers will turn into a surreal, dark, but at the same time funny trip consisting of drugs, sex, drunken fights, and art trolling. The directors filmed "Troubled Minds" without a finished script and also invited real performance artists from Latvia to participate in the creation of the movie.
