In her debut feature film, 26-year-old Franciska Eliassen delves into the exploration of a subject close to her heart—the mental connection between sisters. Using her personal experience—the director's sister, like the character of the film, has mental health issues—Eliassen expands the discourse on the very concept of "normalcy". She explores the boundaries between reality and imagination, past and present, humans and nature in a wandering, poetic manner. At the heart of the plot are teenage sisters Vera and Eira, who have moved with their parents to a picturesque Norwegian village. Something has been happening with Vera lately, and in an attempt to figure out what it is, Eira secretly starts reading her diary. She finds herself in a universe created by her sister, full of bright light and colors, mysteries and myths, as well as hope for a more beautiful future than in our world. The actress who portrayed Vera, Ruby Dagnall ("Amundsen"), received the Amanda Award for this role, which is Norway's equivalent of the Oscars.
