Akam, a young literature teacher of Kurdish descent, leads a quiet life in Oslo until one night his uncle Khdr — a relative from the Iranian part of Kurdistan, whom he hasn’t seen since childhood — arrives unexpectedly. Though Akam is uneasy about the sudden guest, he feels obliged to invite his uncle, who arrives with only a rug on his shoulder, to stay for a few days in his shared apartment. Khdr, spinning tales of a successful business back home, adopts the Norwegian name Jens and seems in no hurry to leave.
As tension between them grows, fueled by cultural differences and a language barrier, beneath the lighthearted comedy of a quirky uncle emerges a subtle drama about family, identity, and the cost of living between two worlds.
